A Vision Called Jubilee!
I feel a lot of frustration out here. I empathize, because I feel it too. Some of us, young and old, have known from earliest memory, that we came here to heal our world. We carry within our hearts, the torch of Love and Freedom. Some are just now remembering. This does not diminish in any way, the importance of their role in the time ahead. Many were given the gift of forgetfulness for their own protection.
The last fifty years have not been wasted. There is a rhythm to transformation which is beyond our personal desires and timetables. The recognition of, and collective will, to name and confront social injustices, including The Equal Rights Movement, The Anti-War Movement, the partnering of the Scientific community and Indigenous Peoples, to create The Environmental Movement, were all necessary and vital foundations to be laid. These were only the opening salvo of a task vaguely comprehended. In our frustration, let us not underestimate the effort and the courage of the generation we now call Elders. In the face of enormous opposition, they did not hesitate. Like Martin Luther King, there are millions, who have not lived to see the Promised Land, for which they gave their lives. We stand on their shoulders.
I spoke of a rhythm. Some people call it backlash. I call it silence. It is the period of gestation required for the development of the next stage of evolution. Witness all that has occurred within the last fifty years. Some People were given the task of exposure and education. Some were given the task of scholarship and retrieval of lost history and wisdom. Some were given the task of technological advances that would serve to unify the Human Family.
While frustration may be an understandable response, it is not our only option, nor is it our highest. Our greatest and most powerful faculty, has always been our imagination. All other Human faculties were given to serve Imagination. It is the seed of our intelligence.
In honor of this faculty, I offer a Vision, given in March of 2009. It is called “Jubilee”.
As the name implies, the entire mood of the vision was one of extraordinary celebration. I stood by the side of a road. I watched as a vast number of people walked by. There was music and they were singing and dancing. Their faces, and their clothes were all the colors of the rainbow. Some people were carrying shovels and pushing wheelbarrows. There were a lot of people carrying the tools of carpenters. There were people of every age and occupation. Occasionally, a bus or a truck would slowly go by. They too, were brightly colored. People would wave and laugh from the windows. I called out, “Where are you going?”. A young woman called back, “We are going to build The Promised Land.”. I began to float, higher and higher. As I looked down, I saw on every road, people moving in every direction. As I floated higher, they were as rivers, flowing to the seas. I saw the coastlines of every continent, lined with people. They had their arms outstretched as if yearning to grasp each others hands. I asked, “What is this?”. A voice answered, “This is Jubilee! This is what happens when people forgive.”.
When I was given this vision, almost three years ago, I could not conceive of events that would initiate such a movement of body and Soul. Today, I can not conceive of what will stop it. 2012 is the year of Jubilee! I think, in our hearts, we know this is no dress rehearsal.
What are your plans for 2012? Will you continue to rail against a machine already imploding through inertia? Or will you offer your talents and abilities to the building of a new dream?
Visions are given to inspire the imagination of The People. It is my greatest hope, that in the sharing of this vision, I have inspired yours.
Love, Danna
